The Southern Africa Centre for Mediation and Extremism Prevention (SACMEP) is pleased to announce its formal incorporation in South Africa as a non-profit company (NPO 2026/106841/08).
This milestone marks the establishment of the region's first dedicated research hub focused on preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE) and supporting mediation efforts across Southern Africa.

SACMEP brings together leading researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. Our mission is to generate evidence-based research and provide strategic support for conflict prevention, mediation, and countering violent extremism initiatives.
